About AICT Diocese Of Tabora
Africa Inland Church Tanzania (AICT), Diocese of Tabora was born on October 8, 2006 in a football stadium in Tabora town. On that Sunday, Rev Silas Kezakubi was ordained as the first bishop of that diocese. Positioned in an expanse of 181,825 square kilometers (about 70,184 square miles), with about 80 small congregations dispersed allover, most of them in rural and meeting in makeshift buildings, this was a real mission field.
It was the sixth diocese of AICT since the year 1997 when the synod of the whole church moved to begin dioceses so that bring the functions of the central office closer to congregations and communities. Among others, the major functions of the central office are evangelism and the maintenance of true biblical and doctrinal teachings in the congregations.
Armed with the vision of helping every individual to overcome four poverties: spiritual, physical, educational and economical, the diocese set out to labor on five missions.
1.To evangelize and plant new churches.
2.To strengthen the existing churches.
3.To ensure and inspire the education of children and youths.
4.To help people to improve their economical status.
